New Zealand Wool Rug | Scandinavian Rya — Ivory, Cloud, Olive

from 1,789.00

The traditional Scandinavian Rya wool rugs with a long pile are hand-made by artisans who would add symmetric Ghiordes knots directly to the warp through a specially woven backing. Each separate knot is composed of three strands of wool, giving the rug rich and inviting texture. Rya rugs were used as bed coverings in Norway and Sweden since the early 1400's. Fusing together centuries of tradition and contemporary design, simplicity of Scandinavian style and high quality craftsmanship, this rug can compliment any interior. Designed in Denmark and made of 100% fine New Zealand wool recognized as the world’s purest and whitest wool. Its purity and whiteness allows for lighter, more delicate shades and colors.

New Zealand wool has long fibers and peeling is minimized. The resilience of the fibers, reduces flattening and ensures durability and easy maintenance. The natural properties of New Zealand wool makes it non-allergenic and fire-resistant which helps to create a safe and healthy indoor environment. New Zealand wool is made with animal friendly practices and it is sustainable, natural and biodegradable. This rug is a stylish design piece with a long lasting value. Design by Massimo.
