from 744.00

Created by the award-winning Danish designer Niels Hvass - one of leaders of the Nordic design scene. The Cutter Bench was designed for the exhibition Walk the Plank, where Niels Hvass cut up a plank to make a bench with grooves and a frame that ties structure and surface together in a continuous shape inspired by the Bauhaus movement’s use of metal pipes. Today, Cutter has developed into a series that includes several functional storage elements.

Design by Niels Hvass for Skagerak, Denmark, renowned for their commitment to craftsmanship, environmental sustainability and responsible production.

Material: Oak FSC®-certified

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), is a non-profit organization that sets high standards to make sure that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner.

Oak is optimal for indoor designs as it is a hard wood with great durability and a particularly light surface that only increases in beauty the more the design is used. To make solid oak furniture Skagerak uses slowly growing Croatian oak, which is exceptionally hard. The selection of the wood is extremely careful and all processing is by hand, so that only the best and most durable pieces of wood are used in production. Skagerak, Denmark oak designs are all FSC®-certified.
